OxfordAQA: Trusted Collaboration Between Oxford University Press and AQA for International Assessment
International Assessment that gives the best opportunity for every takers to succeed.
OxfordAQA
A partnership between Oxford University Press and AQA, by far the UK’s largest provider of GCSEs and A-levels. OxfordAQA is the international exam board that puts fairness first. Benchmarked to UK standards, OxfordAQA exams only ever test subject ability, using accessible language and internationally relevant contexts. This gives every student the best possible chance to show what they can do and get results they deserve.
Fairness Comes First
Fair Assessment is achieved by leveraging the expertise and research developed by AQA over more than 100 years. This same research has enabled AQA to become the UK’s largest awarding body, with over 7 million GCSEs and A-levels marked each year. The deep educational expertise of Oxford University Press is also utilized to ensure that students who speak English as a second language have the same opportunity to achieve top grades as native English speakers.
Oxford 3000™
All OxfordAQA exams use The Oxford 3000™, a list of the most frequently used words in the English language, selected based on extensive research to ensure OxfordAQA exams are accessible to international students.
To achieve good grading, our marking scheme uses positive marking, so students are rewarded for what they have demonstrated in their knowledge and skills. The teachers who grade our exams undergo a rigorous training process to ensure that test papers are graded fairly and consistently.
9-1 Grading Structure
OxfordAQA use the latest grading system for our International GCSE, which is aligned with the UK standards. In fact, students at the higher end of the ability range now benefit more under this new system.
The reformed GCSEs allow for more differentiation at the top end, giving students the opportunity to achieve a new “exceptional” grade 9 – Higher that the old A*.
Globally Recognized
OxfordAQA qualifications are internationally recognized and accepted by universities and higher education institutions around the world, opening up opportunities for students to further their education abroad.
