A Day at the Home for the Aged

The soft and beautiful music came from the orchestra of Fairmeadow Elementary. It washed over the elders of the Sylvester Home for Elderly Residents, making them feel sleepy, calm and relaxed, except Sarah. Sarah was a grandma of 63, and was bound to a wheelchair because of a car accident that occurred a couple years ago. Her family rarely visited her, even though they lived just on the other side of the road. Sarah was hoping her grandchildren would perform even though she knew it was worthless. They had just sent her a letter saying, “We’re busy and we might not be able to come to perform”. But at that time, Sarah had just bought a new surprise present and Jack noticed that she was sad. Jack knew that Sarah was Mary-Jane’s grandma, and called Mary-Jane straight away. “Hello?? is this Mary-Jane??” “Yes, it is. What’s wrong Jack?? ” said Mary-Jane. So Jack explained to Mary-Jane that her grandma was here and was feeling depressed because her family wasn’t performing. Mary-Jane persuaded her parents to go and visit their grandma at the elderly home. They arrived just in time for the Grand Finale, and hid backstage. Meanwhile, Sarah was about to lose hope and go, but a voice inside her head told her to keep watching. So Sarah did, and while watching the Grand Finale, she felt strangely proud and happy to be here. Then Mary-Jane made her made her appearance and ran off the stage just so she could hug her dear grandma. Mary-Jane’s parents and brother went off the stage and hugged Sarah. Sarah felt like she was the most loved grandma in the world, and she felt proud, to listen to the voice inside of her head. She thanked Jack, for reminding her family, that family is more important than anything else.
